Rezumat

The article is focused on defining the very importants concepts of journalistic activity such as responsibility and responsiveness. The social responsibility of the media becomes more important as the practice of social life demonstrates that freedom of expression and information provided by the media, its fundamental social function, the "watchdog" is strongly hindered in current circumstances. The doctrine of social responsibility of the media communication is based on the free access for all citizens to information of public aspects of the social life. Aft er examining the history of the becoming of the concept of media responsibility, the author applied its postulates to the realities of the Moldovan media, highlights the achievements and hardships of the functional framework of the media sector of the Republic of Moldova.
