Rezumat

The current study presents 281 patients that were investigated and treated in Oncology Institute of Republic Moldova in 1989-2005 years and shows the importance of ecography in early diagnosis of hydatiform mola. The mean age of patients was 27 years (range 13-54 years). The results are represented trough two batches: experimental (I batch), constituting 56 patients with minimal risk that did not received traditional chemotherapy, but were under monitoring, and the II batch, referential, including 225 patients that received chemotherapy. The ultrasound examination offered the possibility of early hydatiform mola detection at a period of 7-8 weeks and determined vesicle rests, found in 8,8% and, respectively, 17,9% of patients monitorized after endometrial content evacuation. The ultrasound of pelvis organs provides a better differentiation between total and partial, persistent hydatiform mola, infiltrating and non-infiltrating carcinoma.
