he paper deals with the role of space and its perception in the process of identity formation, looking at the example of the Yukaghir. he author considers the history of their settlement, traditional beliefs concerning the spirits of the surrounding environment, traditional activities distinguishing them from the neighbouring groups (the Yakuts, the Chukchi, etc.). he author concludes that the basic elements of the Yukaghir identity are rooted in their land.

На примере юкагиров в статье освещается роль пространства и его восприятиe в формировании идентичности. Автор рассматривает историю расселения юкагиров, их традиционные представления о духах окружающей среды, традиционные занятия, которые отличают юкагиров от соседних этнических групп (якутов, чукчей и др.). В статье делается вывод о том, что основные элементы юкагирской идентичности связаны с их средой обитания.

În articol este prezentat rolul spaţiului și perceperea lui în procesul de formare a identităţii etnice. Autorul face o prezentare a istoriei răspândirii iukaghirilor, concepţiilor despre spiritele mediului înconjurător, ocupaţiile lor tradiţionale, care îi deosebesc de grupurile etnice învecinate (iakuţi, ciukcea etc.). Autorul ajunge la concluzia că elementele principale ale identităţii iukaghirilor sunt legate nemijlocit de mediul lor de existenţă.
