The decades that have passed since the birth of the European Union meant its gradual transformation into a distinct political and economic structure, with a rich cultural and linguistic diversity, however. This means that the daily communication between European citizens and the communication of the economic and political fields are faced with the inevitable language barriers. Modern technologies of linguistic research can make a significant contribution to reducing these linguistic borders. Combined with intelligent devices and applications, language technologies will be able, in the future, to help Europeans to communicate easily with one another and to do business together, even if one doesn’t speak many languages. Languages and cultures expressing themselves in different languages will be placed in contact by the latest development of technology, but not only; there is also globalization, a deep and far reaching phenomenon, including technological globalization that is already changing the face of the world from the linguistic point of view. |
