The article has the objective to emphasize different opinions concerning the definition of the notion of Competence-based Approach, which is considered to be a combination of
Objective-based Approach in the process of teaching and learning of foreign languages. We analyzed the transversal competences (key competences) presented by the European
Commission; the general competences, the special ones and the components of the communicative competence are described. In this article the idea of coherence of two approaches in the educational process of foreign languages is exposed, and particularly the advantages of Competence-based Approach. Common European Framework of Reference for Languages renewed “four communicative competences” through the interaction and the mediation in oral and written forms. The description of the competences is illustrated with the help of examples that could serve as major help for future teachers of the French
language. |
