Cette reherche est axée sur l’étude sémiotique de l’espace habitable et urbain dans les romans de l’écrivaine italienne Natalia Ginsburg. Dans l’univers idéatique complexe de la prose ginsburgienne les termes « ville » et « foyer » qui vont former le titre antonomastique de son dernier roman. La città e la casa (1997) relève les signes de la « pensée faible » postmoderne. La relation difficile entre l’appartenance à un « foyer» qui suppose l’enracinement dans une tradition de famille ou de culture et le transfert de l’individu à la ville déracinée et desidentifiée est résolue par une synthèse exemplaire d’un monde fragmenté qui fonctionne comme un changement kaleidoscopique des séquences évenementielles, impressions, émotions et souvenirs de ceux qui autrefois formaient un foyer familial. C’est clair que l’auteur nous présente le scénario du déracinement humain énorme et irréversible dû à la perte du sens d’appartenance qui est imliqué dans le symbole du « foyer ». Le passage d’un personnage à l’autre, d’un style à l’autre, d’un foyer, d’un mariage, d’un couple, d’un amour à un autre foyer, autre mariage, autre couple, autre amour illustre la parception de mosaique d’une déception cosmique, d’un itinéraire hésitant de la vie, devenue impossible.

The following study provides an investigation on semiotics of home and urban spaces in the novels by the Italian writer Natalia Ginsburg. In the complex ideatic universe of Ginsburg’s prose the notions of „city”, „home”, which make up the antonomastic title of the last novel La città e la casa (1997), serve as a sign of the postmodernist weak thinking. The difficult relationship between the belonging to a “home”, which suppose a rooting into a family tradition or culture, and the disposal of an individual into a “city” of uprooting and disidentification is solved through a prime synthesis of the fragmented world, which functions as a kaleidoscopic change of event sequences, impressions, emotions and memories of those who once were the “family household”. It seems clear that the author offers a scenario of gigantic and irreversible human uprooting, due to the loss of sense of belonging which is implied in the symbol of home. The sliding from one character to another, from one style to another, from a continent to another, from a house, marriage, couple, love to another house, marriage, couple, love, illustrates the mosaic perception of a cosmic disappointment, of a shattered way through the life becoming unbearable.
