A series of materials and researches argues a mass process that takes place in the last decades in the Republic of Moldova. The economic crisis makes the population from countryside to trade its own cultural values. There are sold handmade carpets being replaced with industrial ones. As justification, it is invoked the fact that “they are not en vogue”, “they are difficult to preserve”, “the young people do not want carpets in their homes”, “the lack of money in times of economic crisis”. The export of national carpets is made in a dangerous alienation of the national patrimony without leaving documentary samples.
