In this paper is given a brief description of Buzdujeni Gorge, one of the most picturesque and interesting in terms of scientific and landscape karst gorges in north-western part of the Republic of Moldova (Racovăţ river basin, affluent of Middle Prut) protected by the state. For this gorge is distinctive the presence in a cave of the right board of an ancient human pluristratigraphic station of musterian culture,
which was populated 70-60 thousand years ago by Neanderthal hunters, as confirmed by the discovery of work tools made of silex and of skeletal remains of hunted animals. |
