Influence of cianobacterium sulfatated polysaccaharides on oxidative stress in normal rats and toxic hepatitis
Sulphatated polysaccharides from Spirulina platensis (PSS) administered per os in dose of
125 mg/kg in normal physiological conditions caused prevailing prooxidant changes of the
oxidant-antioxidant balance. CCl4 intoxication leaded to an excessive increase in the level of
hydrophobic lipids peroxidation products and to a decrease of polar lipids peroxidations
products, which showed the severity of the liver disease process. PSS in CCl4 intoxication
contributed to the enhancement of the production of the final LPO products − trienic- conjugates and their predecessor − malonic dialdehyde, and to the strengthening of antioxidant system, which was a an adaptive-compensatory response to the oxidative stress. |
