В данной статье автор рассматривает Stabat Mater — жанр католического богослужения и светской музыки, занимавший на протяжении шести веков своего существования значительное место в истории западноевропейской культуры, разделившись на две ветви — церковную и концертную. Исследуя жанровые и стилевые свойства Stabat Mater В. Чолака, автор статьи обнаруживает ряд устойчивых признаков церковной ветви жанра, проявляющихся в трактовке текста, исполнительского состава, фактурном складе, соотношении текста и мелодии, соответствии каноническим требованиям в отношении темпов и динамики. В то же время в сочинении отмечаются и некоторые признаки концертности: заостренная интонационная выразительность в условиях минорной тональности, экспрессивная гармония, что проявляется в повышенном уровне диссонантности, альтерациях, частых отклонениях, насыщении постепенными и ускоренными модуляциями, в хроматизации музыкальной ткани и т.п. Автор статьи приходит к выводу, что в Stabat Mater В. Чолака удачно соединяются традиции культовой музыки и некоторые новаторские приемы музыкального языка.

Autoarea abordează Stabat Mater ca un gen de cult catolic şi totodată ca un gen muzical, care timp de şase secole ale existenţei sale ocupă un loc important în istoria culturii occidentale, ramificânduse pe două ramuri — bisericeasca şi concertistică. Analizând lucrarea Stabat Mater a compozitorului V. Ciolac din perspectiva stilistica şi a limbajului muzical, autoarea descoperă un şir de trăsături specifice ale muzicii sacre care poate fi observate în tratarea textului, în componenţă, textură, în raportul dintre text şi muzică, tempouri şi dinamica corespunzătoare cerinţelor bisericeşti. Din alt punсt de vedere sunt relevate şi elementele specifice ramurii concertistice precum expresivitatea intonaţională, folosind moduri minore, şi cea armonică care se evidenţiază prin disonanţe, alteraţii, modulaţii frecvente, cromatizarea scriiturii muzicale, etc. Cercetătoarea a ajuns la concluzia că compozitorul a reuşit să contopească în lucrarea sa limbajul tradiţional al muzicii culte cu unele tehnici componistice inovatoare.

The author of the article approaches Stabat Mater as a genre of both Catholic and secular music that during the six centuries of its existence has had an important place in the history of Western European culture, having divided itself into two branches — the church and the concert one. Investigating the work Stabat Mater by V. Ciolac from the point of view of its genre and style properties, the author discovered, on the one hand, a number of features characteristic of church music which are manifested in the treatment of the text, instrumentation, texture, the correlation between the text and melody, the selection of tempi and dynamics in accordance with the church requirements. On the other hand, there are elements inherent to its concert branch which can be observed in the intonational expressiveness in minor tonalities, harmony with an elevated level of dissonance, alteration, frequent tonicization, saturation of gradual accelerated modulation, chromatization of the musical tissue etc. The author came to the conclusion that the composer succeeded in combining in his works ancient traditions of church music with some innovations of the musical language.
