When it comes to forensic expertise we cannot get away with cosmetic (shallow, superfi cial) reforms as was already attempted by the development of a draft law regarding the forensic examination, authored by an unknown committee at the end of 2012. The project in question provided for a total monopolization of the forensic expertise by the National Center of Forensic Expertise, its control over the activity of independent experts, elimination of qualifi ed persons from ranks of forensic experts, etc. With respect to this matter I decided to present an article concerning the extension of the forensic expertise towards the individual and private sector, as things stand in most European countries, and encourage the reform intended to level the public forensic expertise with
the private one. It is only the competition between these two that will bring out the best specialists, professionals who can truly contribute towards the development of the forensic expertise and reaching the European level in this very field. |
