The esential tool of the actor lays within himself, hamely his physical body, which the director uses to „write” his or
her design. In addtition to the word, there is an increase in the use of the gesture, the motion, which achieves a nonverbal
communication, a physical communication, where the power of suggestion has a voise, as the message can be transmitted
through various plastic exterior means, without a need for words. However, as a stage speech teacher, I would like to dwell upon the importance of the word, off verbal communication inherent to dramatic art, seeing how dramatic art is build upon the human condition and the word. The word spoken on stage must fully and truly convey the inner world of the character, his condition, his line of thinking. The student-actor learn these things in acting classes as well as during stage speech classes. |
