Rezumat

Theatre „Pushkin” in Chisinau hosted for the first time the national opera premiere – „Grozovan” by composer D. Ghersfeld on a libretto by poet V. Rusu. The performance was staged by director G. Ghelovani, conductor M. Sepper, scenographers A. Subin and K. Lodzeiski, choirmasters G. Strezev and B. Picker. The audience and critics praised the event as such, and also the young performers V. Savitcaia (Florica), B. Raisov (Grozovan), A. Sevcenko (Parascovia), P. Caldarar (Manolache), who enjoyed a deserved success, also praised the author of the work, but at the same time they drew attention to some shortcomings. Another work of D. Ghersfeld, „Aurelia”, on a libretto by V. Sevelov was presented to Chisinau on 3 April 1959. The performance was directed by N. Navrotki, conducted by I. Alterman and performed by P. Botezat, T. Siniova (Aurelia), V. Tretiak (Dumitru), A. Fomenko (Andrei), E. Ureche (Bodiul), T. Aliosina (Catalina). Following the comments made in 1963, a new variant of the work was presented, the performance was staged by director E. Plato, conductor M. Caftanat, scenographer K. Lodzeiski, choirmaster G. Strezev. The famous M. Biesu was involved in the new version, which greatly contributed to the success of the show. Both works by D. Gherşfeld were presented at the decade of the Moldovan literature and art in Moscow, held in May 1960. On the 12th of October 1980, in light of the opening of the new building of the Moldovan Opera and Ballet Thearter, and to mark the Day of the MSSR, the Theatre presented the third opera of D. Gherşfeld (libretto by Gh. Malarciuc) – „Serghei Lazo”. This work, deeply ideological, did not stay long in our opera repertory, although major roles in it were performed by great singers M. Biesu (Olga) and M. Muntean (Lazo). Neither director E. Plato, conductor A. Mocealov, or conductor A. Gherşfeld, scenographers V. Okunev and I. Press in the second variant in 1982 could „save” the situation.
