Modern family law has provided individuals and couples who marry, the ability to determine their property rights and responsibilities during marriage and upon its dissolution by the marriage contract. In the course of family life it may be necessary to change the provisions of the marriage contract. Also, due to objective and subjective reasons, the action of the marriage contract can be terminated.

Legislaţia de familie modernă oferă soţilor şi celor, care intenţionează să încheie căsătorie, posibilitatea de a determina în mod independent drepturile şi obligaţiunile sale patrimoniale atât pe parcursul căsătoriei, cât şi după desfacerea acesteia, prin încheierea unui contract matrimonial.
