Rezumat | ||||||
The social novel Înstrăinaţii (The Alienated) is a representative work for the writer of Bessarabian origin, D. C. Moruzi. The author especially emphasizes his intention to give life to some realities of the past, to make the reader aware of the changes in mentality and customs which occurred during the last 50 years in Romania. The title of the work reflects the negative attitude towards those people who forgot their roots (Nini Stelea and the princess Olga de Gaspar Gratiani), though they are not blamed for the occurred transformations. In D. C. Moruzi’s opinion the true happiness can be tasted only when you make a sacrifice for the country as Arthur, the eldest son of Mihalache Stelea, dead as
a hero at Grivita, had done. |
