Rezumat

This article proves that the text written by Urmuz is very appropriate for illustrating the concepts of anti-literature, metaliterature, metanovel, etc. It is marked from the early period by what was later called self-reference and self-reflexion. We cannot therefore ignore the parodist dimension that is peculiar of course of a human nature. The parody has a bivocal, dialogic status: on one hand, it has a role to draw attention to the artifice of art or, namely, literarity, on the other hand, it draws our attention to the fact that in the center of any art a sensitive human being is placed. The parodist dialogism used by Urmuz has an aim to denounce the fatal materialization of an artistic word. The dialogic parody from Pâlnia şi Stamate (The Funnel and Stamate) has a role of comical-ironic contre-partie to the recognized realist novel, a role that is extremely important, since it determines and facilitates beneficial mutations within the genre as well as searching for new viable forms. At the same time, Urmuz bemoans human alienation in modern society.
