The wedding and the wedding folklore of the Romanians from Bessarabia has been explored by such fields as sociology, history, psychology, musicology, ethnology, ethnography
and folklore. The wedding and the wedding folklore was well known due to studies and researches of the most interested authors. The wedding folklore has been studied since the
Moldavian chronicles and continued by the modern researchers. During this time the evolution of wedding folklore developed at two levels: 1) Socio-historical level 2) Polygenetic level (typological, ethnic, national) In the course of its evolution the wedding folklore had both progresses and regresses,
though this fact doesn’t allow us to weaken its cultural value. |
