Rezumat

This article analyzes the problem of the practical functioning of the politi-cal image in the Republic of Moldova in the electoral period 2009-2011. The main condition of the electoral process consists in bringing the political image of the political parties and leaders into accordance with the social expectations of society and basic social groups. In the process of formation of the image the decisive factor is the willing-ness of parties and political leaders to respond to social expectations of society, which may, or may not correspond, to their strategic plans. In the analysis will be used the secondary data of the sociological polls of public opinion of the country, conducted by reputable sociological services in 2009-2011 by the request of the Institute for Public Policy of the Republic of Moldova.
