The article is dedicated to the role of cytokines – a big group of biologically active substances, which play a major role in the pathogenesis of many digestive disorders. Authors present a literature review regarding the origin, variability, level and all kind of changes in cytokines spectrum within gastric and duodenal ulcer disease, pancreatitis, chronic hepatitis, goal bladder disease and other. Study of the spectrum and levels of cytokines at different stages of morbid processes plays an important role in the diagnosis, assessment of the disease evolution, prognosis, prevention of complications and treatment management. Cytokine´s profile indicates maximal levels in acute phase of the pathologic process and decrease in the recovering phase. Persistence of the increased cytokines levels may be suggestive for a relapsing evolution, metaplasia or neoplasia as well.

Lucrarea este dedicată citokinelor-unui mare grup de substanţe biologic active cu rol important în patogenia multor boli digestive. Este prezentată sinteza surselor informative referitoare la originea, variabilitatea, nivelul, modificările spectrului citokinic în diverse patologii: ulcer gastric, ulcer duodenal, pancreatite, hepatite cronice, colecistite şi a... Studiul spectrului şi nivelului citokinelor la diferite etape ale procesului pot avea rol în diagnostic, aprecierea fazei procesului, prognozarea evoluţiei, prevenirea complicaţiilor şi trasarea unui program de tratament. Profilul citokinic indică valori maxime în faza acută şi scăderea în faza reparativă. Persistenţa îndelungată a valorilor crescute a citokinelor poate sugera evoluţia recedivantă, posibilitatea metaplaziei şi neoplaziei.
