Cahul plain’s ravines. The plain is situated in the south western part of the Republic of Moldova. Fisical-geographical conditions and intensive and often incorrect utilization of the slope territories are favoring the ravine erosion. The carried out investigations have revealed 1733 V-shaped and 658 flat-bottomed ravines, as well as 140 ravine systems, total area making up 1484 ha. A detail characterization of the geomorphological features of all types of the ravines is presented in tables and diagrams. In conclusion specific recommendations for the melioration and utilization of all the ravine types are proposed.
