Prima emblemă paraheraldică pentru satul Talmaz a fost elaborată şi acceptată de autorităţile locale în anul 1995, fără însă a respecta canoanele ştiinţei heraldice. În 2002 autorul a elaborat proiecte noi de stemă şi drapel pentru această localitate, utilizând procedeul armelor grăitoare. La baza concepţiei a fost pusă etimologia ce explică numele satului ca provenind de la antroponimul apotropaic turanic „Italmaz”, care se traduce semantic prin „să nu-l ia câinele [pe copilul acesta născut astăzi]”. Divizarea scutului în cap de câine este o propunere de pionierat pentru heraldica românească.

The first para heraldic emblem for the village of Talmaz was developed and accepted by the local authorities in 1995, though not following the canons of heraldry. In 2002, the author developed new projects of the rural coat of arms and flag,using the“public arms”method. The concept was based on the etymology explaining the origin of the name of the village from a Turkic an throponym-amulet, Italmaz, meaning in its semantic translation “the dog won’t take the child born today”. The division of the shield in the form of the dog’s head in Romanian heraldry is proposed for the first time.
