The distribution and density of carnivorous mammals in ecosystems located in the north of Moldova. 11 species of carnivorous mammals (Vulpes vulpes, Meles meles, Mustela putorius, M. eversmanni, M. nivalis, M. erminea, M. lutreola, Martes martes, M. foina, Lutra lutra and Felis silvestris) are to be found in the ecosystems of northern Moldova. The number of species depends on the ecosystem type and varies from 1 (on rock faces covered with pasture) to 10 (on flooded woodlands). As a result of the destruction of specific ecotopes, the ermine remains a vulnerable species; as a result of the cutting down of hollow trees, the forest marten remains in the same group, whereas the wild cat has become endangered. The distribution and the density of carnivorous mammals in the ecosystems located in the north of Moldova to a large extent depend on the anthropic pressure.
