The basic objective to develop the literary competences is to make the readers able to comprehend the literary works in general cultural context and their self-education through the literary works. The aim of development of literary competences intercrosses both the reading activity of the student and the esthetical function of literature. The minimal content that an institution of higher education has to offer to the students must assure de efficient development of literary competences. The literary education supposes the creation of optimal conditions for creative growth and a spiritual selfdetermination, and individual self-actualization.
