The story The word „mamma” by Alberto Moravia from the point of view of the relationship author-reader is an
invitation to discover the secret values of the word-trap beyond its appearances. The aim of the article is to propose to
clear up the narrative text in terms of stylistic and pragmatic issues such as: emotional valences of the word, complementary
sequences, indirect messages, situational context etc. The pragmatical- stylistic approach proves to be relevant to a
proper reading of the story where it seems unapproachable from other perspectives. |
