Rezumat

Folosirea internetului şi calculatorului în secolul XXI în procesul educaţional a devenit un subiect important al discuţiilor, publicaţiilor şi conferinţelor ştiinţifice. De asemenea, tema rămîne a fi interesantă pentru seminarele metodice şi didactice. Avantajele internetului, printre care putem menţiona interactivitatea, creşterea efecienţei activităţilor şi procesului didactic, dezvoltarea competenţelor de comunicare, studiului individual şi multe altele, contribuie la însuşirea mult mai productivă şi la perfecţionarea cunoştinţelor în domeniul unei limbi străine.

The technological progress and innovations have a colossal impact on the academic studies, research and education in general and especially on teaching and learning foreign languages. Therefore it is important to understand the influence and not to underestimate the positive effect of CBT - computer based teaching and new media: computers, internet, foreign language teaching and learning software, online exercises, online dictionaries, etc. This article shows the opportunities and possibilities, effective methods of teaching which correspond to the expectations and desires of the 21st century students. The criteria of choice of the appropriate media are essential, taking into consideration psychological prerequisites, learning environment and the individual capacities of learners. The advantages of computer and internet usage in foreign language teaching process and consequently the multiple benefits for successful language acquisition are evident in developing of all four important skills: Reading, Writing, Listening Comprehension and Speaking.
