În acest articol se analizează apariţia unor legături de integrare economică şi politică dintre fostele state sovietice, precum şi dezvoltarea proceselor de dezintegrare în perioada post-sovietică. La etapa iniţială de înfiinţare şi dezvoltare a CSI, Rusia a fost elementul central al integrării naturale din fosta Uniune Sovietică. Mai târziu, în procesul de consolidare a statalităţii sale, multe dintre noile elite naţionale s-au condus de separarea de Rusia. Cu toate acestea, Rusia este încă în măsură să rămână un centru de procese de integrare în cadrul Comunităţii. Acest fapt reiese din iniţiativa Rusiei de a crea o Uniune Vamală şi crearea Uniunii Euroasiatice.

The purpose of this article is to analyse the creation of the economic and political integration ties between the former Soviet states as well as the development of processes of disintegration during the post-Soviet period. At the early CIS establishment and development stage, Russia was the core of the natural integration from the former Soviet Union. Later in the process of strengthening its statehood, many of the new national elites headed for separation from Russia. Nevertheless Russia is still able to remain a center of integration processes in the Commonwealth. This is a result of the Russia’s initiative to buid up the Customs Union and the Eurasian Union.
