Role of minimally-invasive methods for treatment
of varicose veins of lower limbs
Varicose veins of lower limbs continue to present a significant clinical problem, and not just a "cosmetic" burden due to their unsightly nature. Our study evaluated 84 patients with varicose veins, treated by surgery (crossectomy associated with various types of saphenous vein stripping), and minimally-invasive methods (EVLA, ASVAL, sclerotherapy). The results confirm that the minimally-invasive methods are an effective treatment to stop venous reflux and to be at least comparable with classical surgical procedures. |
