Study of the dynamics of bacterial resistance to azithromycin
The antimicrobial resistance is a negative phenomenon that continuously reduces the
spectrum of action and the arsenal of antibacterial preparations used in therapy. According to
WHO forecasts, some infections successfully treated today, soon could become mortal again. In
this context, WHO has adopted a series of measures to prevent and control the antimicrobial
resistance, including the European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System.
This paper represents a pharmacological monitoring study of the antimicrobial resistance
that, in parallel with the EARSS, provides a full image of the development of bacterial resistance
to Azithromycin, updates the spectrum of action of this antibiotic, and detects trends and future
development of the antimicrobial resistance to Azithromycin and its use in therapeutics. |
