At the moment we do not have any secure, fast and cheap methods of diagnosing HI (herpes Infection) during pregnancy. With the help of PCR (polymerase chain reaction) in assessing the viral DNA sequences we have a sensibility and distinctiveness up to 98.5%, but very frequently we obtain false negative results, because the viral response has a period of around 14 days. The immunological examination by measuring IgM, which are serving as markers in acute HI, very often when GH (genital herpes) reactivates they are synthesized or they are not serological detectable [2.4]. According to the specialized literature data the total IgG may be divided into IgGp (precocious) and IgGt (tardy). The IgGp serve as markers in the acute HI or in its reactivation [5, 8, 9]. Our purpose is to elucidate the most reliable methods for diagnosing the GH in pregnant women. The results of the study carried out on a group of 70 pregnant women showed that: RPL serological positive was found just in 12.9%, RPL in the cervical epithelium – in 27.1%, IgM-24.3%, while 90.0% with positive IgGp. Based on the study done on pregnant women infected with genital herpes it was found that the most reliable method for diagnosing the acute HI or its reactivation is the immunoenzymatic method by using the ELISA equipment for IgGp determination estimated in 90.0%. |
