Rezumat

The wine sector remains among the main branches of agriculture in the Republic of Moldova. Over the years, the grapes varieties assortment is diversified by the creation of new autochthonous varieties and by the introduction of varieties and clones from various regions of the world. The systematization of the data regarding the vineyards and existing wine units in the Republic of Moldova was only possible through the creation of the wine register, an IT system for the traceability of the entire production and trade system, which contains detailed information about all grape and wine producers in the Republic Moldova. In the Plant Varieties Catalog, for the year 2022, were included - 31 white wine grape varieties, 13 wine red grape varieties, 119 clones of wine varieties, of which 56 belong to white grape varieties and 63 red grape varieties. The largest areas with varieties for wine in the Republic of Moldova still remain to be occupied by the noble varieties of introduction such as - Aligote - 5324.68 ha, Cabernet Sauvignon - 4237.47 ha, Merlot - 4178.18 ha, Sauvignon - 4157.28 ha, Chardonnay – 2390.71 ha, Rkațiteli -2481.41 ha, Muscat Ottonel – 1256.56 ha, Pinot Noir – 1204.0 ha, the other wine varieties register areas of less than 1000 ha per variety. For the aboriginal varieties and those of local selection, there is a tendency to expand the areas, as a result of the increased demand in recent years on the sales markets and the highlighting of authenticity in wine tourism. Thus, in the Wine Register of the Republic of Moldova, the following areas are registered for these varieties - Fetească Albă - 653.29 ha, Fetească Regală - 338.18 ha, Fetească Neagră - 298.68 ha, Alb de Onițcani - 244.73 ha, Viorica – 208.65 ha, Codrinski – 157.96 ha, Riton – 142.68 ha, Rara Neagră – 132.54 ha and Floricica – 4.21 ha. The diversification of the grapes varieties assortment and the expansion of vineyards on the republic is a welcome thing as long as the condition of the existing assortment, market demand and consumer preferences are initially studied. Wines from aboriginal and autochthonous varieties have been in increasing demand from 102 consumers in recent years, but the areas of plantations with these varieties are greatly disadvantaged by those of introduction.
