The wine sector in the Republic of Moldova is a strategic one. In last years, it has been found that producers show a low interest in the culture of the vine, thanks to many subjective and objective factors. According to the NBS, FAO data, in the import structure, there is an increase in the production of imported grapes within the limits of 1.41 – 1.83 times higher in 2021, compared to the years 2017-2020, namely, compared to 2017 – by 1.59 times or 534.8 t. more, compared to 2018 – 1.83 times or 658.1 t. more, compared to 2019 – 1.41 times or 423.8 t. more and compared to 2020 – 1.5 times or 491.6 t. more. In terms of country profile, Iran is the leading importer in Moldova with approx. 1956.9 t., followed by Turkey with approx. 740 t., Uzbekistan with 511 t., and India with approx. 435 t. The analysis of the trade balance shows an increase in import by 534.8 t. in 2021 compared to 2017. The amount of import constituted in 2017 – 913.4 t., in 2018 – 790.1 t., in 2019 – 1024, 4 t., in 2020 – 956.6 t., in 2021 – 1448.2 t. The trade balance recorded a decrease in export by -22415.2 t. in 2021 compared to 2017. The amount of import constituted in 2017 -80238.7 t., in 2018 – 48123.4 t., in 2019 – 62734.6 t., in 2020 – 4738.9 t., in 2021 – 57823.5 t., and a reduction of the balance by -22950.0 t. in 2021 compared to 2017. The amount of import registered in 2017 -79325.2 t., in 2018 – 47333.3 t., in 2019 – 61710.2 t., in 2020 – 3782.3 t., in 2021– 56375.2 t. In value form, the trade balance had an increase in imports by 1027.2 thousand USD in 2021 compared to 2017. Imports in 2017 constituted -1605.7 thousand USD, in 2018 – 1548.6 thousand USD, in 2019 – 1851.3 thousand USD, in 2020 – 1751.7 thousand USD, in 2021 – 2632.9 thousand USD. We note that the trade balance decreased by -2547.8 thousand USD in export in 2021 compared to 2017. In 2017, it amounted to -38625.9 thousand USD in import, in 2018 – 25127.9 thousand USD, in 2019 – 29696.2 thousand USD, in 2020 – 26910.5 thousand USD, in 2021 – 36078.1 thousand USD and the total trade balance recorded a reduction of -3574.9 thousand USD in 2021 compared to 2017. Imports recorded in 2017 -37020.1 thousand USD, in 2018 – 23579.3 thousand USD, in 2019 – 27844.9 thousand USD, in 2020 – 25158.9 thousand USD, in 2021 – 33445.2 thousand USD. |
