Starting from the urban legends of the underground historical, architectural, and cultural layers from the 187 districts that form the historical core of Chisinau at the beginning of the research, in 2010 I set my goal to document all the old spaces – basements, cellars, bunkers, galleries, aqueducts and sewage systems which truly represent a historical, architectural value for the history of Chisinau city. More and more questions arising during that period have received an answer so that from the myth of the underground I reached the discovered reality  – Old Chisinau, which has an underground heritage, hitherto unexplored by academia, an abandoned-untapped heritage, and the agglomeration of cellars on the outskirts of the old city ranks Chisinau among the few European cities with a density per neighbour hood of architectural remains, which in perspective, can obtain a protection status and capitalized economically, serving the sustainable economic development of the city, being part of the national tourist circuit under the brand project – galleries of Underground Moldova.
