The article highlights the main activities during the year 2008 within the scientific community of the Republic of Moldova, of which: reorganisation of the structure of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova – 6 scientific divisions were reorganized in 3 divisions and 2 subdivisions (division of natural and life sciences, which includes 2 subdivisions on medical sciences and agricultural sciences; division of exact and economic sciences; division of humanities and social sciences); approval of five new state programs with a duration of four years and continuation of other seven, through which 96 projects will be financed in 2009; enhancement of international cooperation activities and participation of Moldovan scientists in international projects, mainly in the framework of STCU, NATO, EU Seventh Framework Programme, MRDA / U.S. CRDF and within bilateral grant programs with the Russian Federation, Belarus, Germany, Romania and Ukraine. The article also focuses on the main achievements of the scientific community in 2008, as well as on the
efforts towards the enrichment of the innovation infrastructure and potential of the Republic of Moldova. |
