Rezumat

Background: investigation of influence of beta-blocker (bisoprolol) on hemodynamic indicators and heart rate variability in children with mitral valve prolapse. Material and methods: The carried out research has included 50 children, with mitral valve prolapse I and II degree, at the age from 7 till 18 years: I group (bisoprolol) 30 (60,0 %) children, average age (12,90±0,53) years and II group (placebo) 20 (40,0 %) children, average age (13,5±0,60) years, doses of bisoprolol (PO): 1,25-2,5mg/kg/dose with inspection of hemodynamic and heart rate variability indicators. Results: Results of research have revealed, that syndrome of mitral valve prolapse is accompanied by various clinical symptoms with prevalence of heart pains and palpitations in 96,70 % cases. The analysis of results of an Holter monitoring ECG 24 hours has revealed prevalence of supraventricular premature contraction (100,0%), supraventricular tachycardia (86,0%) and sinus tachycardia (70,0%) cases. Conclusions: Results of research have revealed, that at children with symptomatic mitral valve prolapse, bisoprolol has considerably reduced heart rate (-8,9; p <0,001) in comparison with placebo, without influence on systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Bisoprolol can be recommended in the scheme of treatment at children with symptomatic mitral valve prolapse as possesses high cardioselectivity (1:75)
