Rezumat

This research was aimed at evaluating the biochemical composition of the silage prepared from local ecotype of dyer's woad Isatis tinctoria, grown in monoculture in an experimental field of the National Botanical Garden (Institute), Chişinău, Republic of Moldova. It has been determined that the colour of prepared silages was redgreen with specific aroma. The biochemical composition and nutritive value of the silage dry matter was: 196 g/kg CP, 160 g/kg ash, 314 g/kg CF, 521 g/kg NDF, 335 g/kg ADF, 37 g/kg ADL, 298 g/kg cellulose, 186 g/kg hemicellulose, with 62.8% DDM, 50.9% DOM RFV=122, 12.38MJ/kg DE, 10.16 MJ/kg ME and 6.18 MJ/kg NEl. The silage mass substrate contained 467g/kg carbon and 31.4 g/kg nitrogen, optimal C/N= 15 and the biochemical methane production potential averaged 367 l/kg ODM. The silage prepared from local ecotype of Isatis tinctoria has very good nutrient content, can be used as alternative fodder for livestock and also as feedstock for anaerobic digestion in biogas reactors, for renewable energy production.
