| Rezumat | ||||||
With the emergence and development of international relations between states, there is a need to regulate crimes related to the crossing of customs borders of states. Crime as a phenomenon is widespread in the customs field, causing considerable losses to the state inte-rests of the Republic of Moldova. Therefore, smuggling is one of the serious violations commit-ted in the field of customs legal relations, because by committing it is effectively violating the social values of utmost importance for public order and for the legitimate interests of the citi-zens of the Republic of Moldova. By Law no. 257 of 16-12-2020 on amending certain norma-tive acts, which entered into force on 01.01.2021, the legislator brought essential changes in the matter of criminalizing smuggling offenses, thus extending the incriminating sphere. In this article we will analyze the new changes as well as the statistics of the last years regar-ding the given crime. |
