Rezumat

The article presents both, general characteristics of psychosocial adaptation and specific aspects of psychosocial adaptation as an important process for optimal personality development. The authors mention that when describing the adaptation process, it is necessary to take into consideration the changes that occur in the personality with reference to three levels: 1. emotional, 2. cognitive and 3. behavioral, for describing in detail the tasks solved at each of the stages. The training of skills for adapting to new conditions in order to meet personal and social needs is among the objectives of education that are aimed for achieving more goals. Currently, the rapid and forced changes that take place, require, more than ever, the development of complementary characteristics, of adaptive flexibility, therefore, the development of the skills needed to live in balance with these changes. In this context, we consider it important for all the educational actors to know the process of psychosocial adaptation of the personality, especially teachers and school psychologists.
