<description xml:lang='en' descriptionType='Abstract'>This article analyzes some of the methodological problems of studding the
processes of democratic modernization in the Republic of Moldova. The author
stresses the heuristic value of the political and cultural paradigm, dominant in the present moldavian reseach practice. At the same time, the attention is paid to the analysis of the concept of postdemocracy, allowing to reveal the underlying mechanisms of the evolution of democratic system in the modern world in general and and explain the reasons for the low quality of political participation in the Republic of Moldova, in particular.</description>
