One of the most important problems in intensive care and emergencies involves patients with life-threatening cases of Ventricular Tachyarrhythmia. The goal in management of this serious problem is to avoid sudden cardiac death. The term “ventricular arrhythmias” incorporates a wide spectrum of abnormal cardiac rhythms, from single premature ventricular complexes to sustained monomorphic/polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia, and ventricular fibrillation. Sustained ventricular arrhythmias are the most common cause of sudden cardiac death. These arrhythmias occur predominantly in patients with structural heart disease, but are also seen in patients without demonstrable cardiac disease. The purpose of the present article is to review etiology and summarize new strategies of diagnosis and treatment of Ventricular Tachyarrhythmia. It describes modern methods of diagnostics and the significance of treatment using beta-blockers (rizoprol), amiodaronе (rotaritmil) and antiplatelet drug (lopigrol). |
