Normally, in the external auditory canal doesn’t exist fungi (mushrooms), earwax having a net fungistaticaction. Installing a fungal infection in the external ear canal is favoured by physicochemical changes, determined by several factors. Otomycosis drug treatment often requires combinations of drugs from different classes: antifungal, antibacterial, antihistamines, antiinflammatory. The purpose of the study: the evaluation of the arsenal of combined drugs for the otomycosis treatment. Materials and methods: analysis of medications Nomenclatures from 7 countries (Moldova, Romania, Russia, Britain, France, USA and Canada) and the recommendations of experts in the field, found in the literature. Results: The analysis of nomenclatures shows that about 23 commercial names that are produced by 11 companies from 9 countries, are being used frequently. The majority manufacturing companies are presented by countries with highly developed pharmaceutical industry (60%) companies in the Central and Eastern Europe countries (33%) and in “third world”countries (7%).The most commonly antimycotics associate with antibacterial (86%) and anti-inflammatory corticosteroid (71%). In the combinations can be present antiseptics, local anesthetics. The combined drugs mainly are presented in the form of ointments or gels (93%) and ear drops (7%). On the pharmaceutical market of RM are only present 3 of drug names containing the antifungal compound in the form of ointment / cream, all of which are imported. Conclusions: Ointments aren’t the most beneficial earbuds formulation for independent use; their application can result in damage to the inner ear. It is considered appropriate to develop new combinations of antifungal in the form of solutions for the treatment of otomycosis.
