Febrile convulsions in children. clinical and etiological aspects, development
peculiaritres and diagnosis of febrile convulsions in children
Febrile convulsions are occasional (accidental) convulsions occurring in children from 3
months to 5 years, relapse of -38.0 C fever in the absence of any sign of brain distress. There are
three main factors that can cause febrile convulsions: fever, age and genetic predisposition.
Febrile seizures are one of the major problems of pediatrics and pediatric neurology. They are
one of the most common causes of triggering epileptic condition in children. Febrile seizures
precede 15% of cases of onset of epilepsy in childhood. Mortality of febrile seizures is low. |
