Rezumat | ||||||
The paper investigates the causal relationship between trust in institutions and compliance with the measures introduced to slow the spread of COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova. In addition, the impact of the COVID pandemic on the socio-economic situation of citizens was analyzed. The results suggest that trust in public institutions contributes to increasing citizens’ compliance with protection rules. In addition, some socio-economic characteristics, such as occupation, age or experience of COVID-19 disease, have a positive effect on compliance with measures to counteract the spread of COVID-19 virus. |
