Annexins, calcium and phospholipid-agglutinan tproteins in dilated cardiomyopathy
In this study, the expression and distribution of annexins V and VI in healthy
human hearts and in DCM with irreducible heart failure using Western blots were analyzed.
There was a predominant localization of annexins V and VI in cardiomyocytes in the
sarcolemma, the T tubules and intercalary disks of healthy hearts, whereas in hearts with heart
failure the two types of annexins are found in large quantities in the interstice.
Moreover, annexin V is almost absent in the cardiomyocytes. We have shown that heart with
heart failure is accompanied by over expression and translocation of annexins V and VI, from
the cardiomyocytes to the interstitial tissue. Data suggest that annexins can help to the
ventricular remodelling. |
