The United Nations Platform for space-based information for disaster management and emergency response «UN-SPIDER». To practice remote sensing is not enough to have a computer equipped with a specialized image processing software that anyone can learn to manipulate using menus increasingly sophisticated. It requires, first, knowledge of the natural environment which is the subject of satellite scientific investigation. But this huge network of satellite surveillance phenomena on Earth was made possible by obtaining an agreement between the space agencies of the major cosmic powers (including the US, Russia and China) and other international institutions. |
