The norms and objectives of the United Nations regarding juvenile law offer relevant standards for its the administration: the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Administration of Juvenile Justice (the Beijing Rules), the UN Standard Minimum Rules for Non-custodial measures (the Tokyo Rules), the UN Guidelines for the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency (the Riyadh Guidelines), the UN Rules for the Protection of Juveniles deprived of Liberty. The UNO Convention on the Rights of the Child confirms the necessity of establishing a special protection regime for children facing legal problems. |
