Rezumat

Hybridization methods with spontaneous mobilization of gene pool in plant breeding allows solving many problems. Via classical hybridizations, the efficient capacities in the activity of plant regeneration were inherited by crossing crops with the spontaneous species and embryonic callus culture. Hybridization between various genetically stable species varies according to the degree of kinship between them, with the transmission from spontaneous species to crops of genetic information that determines some economically valuable traits. Tomato F1 hybrid populations were obtained as a result of spontaneous hybridizations between Solanum lycopersicum peruvianum var. dentatum CH Mull., Solanum lycopersicum hirsutum var. glabratum CH Mull and Solanum lycopersicum chilense var. CH Mull with Victorina, Prizior (Solanum lycopersicum L.) varieties, and in vitro culture. The use of genetic potential of spontaneous forms is of particular importance for increasing fruit size and shape as well as other traits.
