Comisia Internaţională pentru Protecţia Rîului Dunăre (CIPRD )este unal dintre cele mai active şi efi ciente structuri în cooperarea apelor transfrontaliere. CIPRD este lider în astfel de domenii precum dreptul intern, în căutarea diferitor surse, participarea publică, precum şi în navigaţie şi mediu. Părţile Convenţiei pentru Protecţia Rîului Dunăre utilizează activ platforma CIPRD pentru a obţine informaţii şi a pune în discuţe noi proiecte cu un potenţial impact asupra mediului bazinului Dunării. Benefi ciul Moldovei ca membru al CIPRD include, printre altele, întărirea cooperării între Sub-Bazinul Rîului Prut şi Delta Dunării, de asemena include oportunitatea de a discuta proiecte înaintate de către statele membre şi de a utiliza mecanismele CIPRD pentru cercetările îndepărtate asupra poluării accidentale şi pentru managementul fl uvial.

The International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River (ICPDR) is one of the most active and effective joint bodies for transboundary water cooperation. The ICPDR is a leader among joint bodies in such areas as internal law making, diversity of funding sources, public participation, as well as navigation and the environment. The Parties to the Danube River Protection Convention actively use the platform of the ICPDR to request information and discuss new projects with a potential impact of the environment in the Danube basin. The benefits of Moldova’s membership in the ICPDR include, among others, the strengthening of cooperation in the Prut River Sub-Basin and the Danube Delta, opportunity to discuss projects planned by the neighboring countries, and the use of the ICPDR’s mechanisms for early warning on accidental pollution and for the management of fl oods.
