Rezumat

A real interest to identify the factors, which have hindered the full realization of the objectives of economic integration of Northern African countries and some states of Middle East region or have led to the failure of many initiatives and projects of economic integration in the region, have determined the authors to approach this topic by detect it in several key- elements. The authors assert that the economic aspirations interest derived from the very modest economic development and pronounced dependence of these countries to the former metropolis or to other developed countries. Most agreements and contracts signed by the North Africa countries and some states of Middle East region, had and continue to have as a priority the development of mutual trade and deepen of the economic cooperation. The economic integration in developing regions generally has common features and peculiarities, which are identified by the authors, based on specific political, economic and social conditions in the countries of the region. In the Middle East states, although there were some attempts to economic integration, however, until now there has been no crystallization of economic formations, able to cover all or almost all countries of the region. The political and military events in the region were the factors that prevented the rapid development of the economic integration process in this space. The interest on the factors, which have prevented the full realization of economic integration objectives and have led to the failure of several initiatives and projects of economic integration in the region have led a number of organizations and specialists in the ability to resort to study the problem on the prospective of the related impact factors. Making conclusion on the level of the economic integration process in mentioned areas, the authors consider that it must be highlighted at least two ideas. Firstly, the manifested interest by the most of them to expand the mutual trade and economic cooperation as important mechanisms to boost their economic development. Secondly, there is aspirations and progressive efforts to reduce the economic dependence from the developed states to the exclusion of the latter, within the economic well crystallized formations, given the continuing political instability, without rejecting the idea of external unconditioned financial support.
