Rezumat

After restoration of the Soviet regime in Bessarabia in 1944, the Moldavian SSR periodicals, especially newspapers, became a main tool of the local governing and party bodies. Periodicals had been subjected to the social and political objectives of CP (b) of the USSR by the imposition of a strict control on its activities. In the first postwar years, in order to improve the "political education and to raise the political culture of the Moldovan people", the emphasis was put on solving the immediate logistical and ideological work tasks related to media: regular appearance of the main national, county and district newspapers and the publication of articles with an intense ideological and political tinge (meant to facilitate the fulfill of the immediate tasks of convincing the local people of the benefits of the Soviet regime, justifying Soviet claims over the territory between the Prut and Dniester, and the ethnic, linguistic and cultural assimilation of the local population).
