In his memorialistic creation and stories, the writer Ionel Teodoreanu artistically outlines the transition of human ages from birth to old age. He is concerned with the psychology and moral transformations that the child and adolescent go through. In this article we analyze the soul experience of maturity and old age in the cycle "Table of Shadows". There is an awareness of the passage of time and nostalgia for the past developed around his activity at the cenacle of "Romanian Life". Viewed in this way, we deduce that this direction of Ionel Teodoreanu's creation was conceived by the author, entirely, as a Bildungsroman.
